Bombarding Force E operated off Juno beach. It contained two cruisers (HMS Belfast and HMS Diadem) and 11 destroyers (seven British, two Canadian, one Free French and one Norwegian). In addition to the main bombarding ships, there were special landing craft that could fire rockets or guns from a closer range.
