Report on medical care

The Report upon the State of the Hospitals of the British Army in the Crimea and Scutari revealed the very poor provision for British troops in all aspects of care. These extracts highlight some of the deficiencies in hospital accommodation, transportation and the quality of orderlies. The services of the recently arrived nursing attendants under Florence Nightingale however are described as 'extremely valuable'.
