- The Archive will be closed to the public from 13-24 May 2013 (inclusive) for their annual stocktake. Telephone and email enquiries will continue to be dealt with, but responses may take a little longer than usual. They will reopen at 10am on Tuesday, 28 May 2013 (Monday, 27 May 2013 is a UK public holiday).

- The Royal Mail Archive includes records of The Post Office and Royal Mail from 1636 to the present day, including working files, staff records, visual records (poster, photographs, artwork), stamps of Great Britain from the Penny Black onwards, and records of British postal markings over four centuries
