Searching by individual repository

Repository name

You can search in the name field by typing in the whole title of the repository for example “National Railway Museum” or by using part of the title of the repository for example “Railway”. If a search displays more that one repository, scroll down the alphabetical list of results until you reach the one you are looking for.

Town

You can search by typing in the name of a town, for example, Portsmouth. The search will produce a list of repositories arranged alphabetically.

County

You can search by the name of the county by clicking on the relevant county from the drop down list. This provides a list of all the counties in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. The search will retrieve all of the repositories noted on the NRA index for the chosen county.

Your results from all of these searches will provide a list of links to the relevant repositories containing the word or words you are looking for; click on each link to read the repositories’ details.
