Tenement in the town of Melcombe Regis which John Meir of Osi[n?]gton holds for the term of his life; and which is situated between the tenement of John Albud on the west and the highway on the east in the street of St. Mary and extends in length as far as the fountain. To hold for the term of their lives; paying said Thomas, after the death of John Meir, one rose, at Melcombe on the feast of St. John the Baptist, for all service, saving rent and service to the king and rent to the Abbot of Lotelee [? name not identified].

 

And if they hold the said tenement more than 50 years after the death of John Meir, they shall pay 40/- annually.

 

Clause of warranty.

 

Date: Melcombe, on the feast of the Pentecost, 45 Edward III.

 

Witnesses: Henry Fr[a?]mton, mayor of the said town, John Albud, and Richard Swayn, bailiffs, John Gower, Laurence Janin, John Salluc, John Rooe, John Rousmal.
