Description:

This series of records contains all files related to the production and promotion of 'The Nine Night' by Edgar White. Directed by Rufus Collins this is a play whose title refers to the Jamaican folk ritual the 'Nine Night' which is enacted as part of a funeral to guide a troubled soul to paradise. The ceremony opens and closes the play whilst the central story is that of a West Indian man who wants to return home. The character's dissapointment with his style of life in England is in contrast with his family who have integrated into the system.
