This series of records contains all files related to the production and promotion of 'Splendid Mummer' by Lonne Elder III, directed by Anton Phillips. Splendid Mummer traces the life of celebrated black actor Ira Aldridge from his youth in New York to his eventual rise to stardom in Europe. From the mid 1830s to the mid 1860s Aldridge gained many honours with his performances of Macbeth, King Lear, and Othello.
