Book of Accompt of moneys received and paid by William Chausye or Chaucy to the use of Lord Robert Dudley, 20 Dec. 1 Eliz. [1558] - 20 Dec. 2 Eliz. [1559]. The receipts (f.1), which are signed "Wm. Chaucy", amount to £2540.5.6. The payments are divided into - "Forin expenses and charges, with rewardes". ff 2, 34;- "Charges of aparell and goldsmithes worke", ff.23, 36;- "Diett", ff.27, 36;- "Necessary provissions", viz. furniture, utensils, etc. f.30;- "Charges for Lyverye" f.31; Pleying monnye", viz. £109.7.10. f.32. "Peymentes... not before mentioned". f.33;- Prestes". f.36b. The total amounts to £2589.2.1½, leaving a balance due to W. Chaucy of £48.16.7½. With the signatures at the end (f.37) of John Duddeley, R. Horden, and Will. Kynyatt, auditors. A few other memoranda are added, ff.38-41. The volume includes several entries relating to "My Lady", viz. Army Robsart, Lord Robert Dudley's first wife. These are printed in the Wilts Archaeological Magazine, 1877, p.84.
