Catalogue description KEA (CORNW.)

This record is held by Berkeley Castle Muniments

Details of BCM/H/3/5
Reference: BCM/H/3/5
Title: KEA (CORNW.)
Held by: Berkeley Castle Muniments, not available at The National Archives
Language: English
Administrative / biographical background:

The documents are all labelled 'Landege' (or 'Lansege'), the ancient name for Kea, near Truro, although the manor clearly comprised lands in various places. That the courts of 1460-1 were held in the name of the feoffees of Joan widow of Robert Veer and Sir Nicholas Carew may suggest that the manor was a possession of the early Careys.
