Stephen (I) de Segrave was granted land here by Thornholm Priory. His son Gilbert was granted land in Dunstall and Blyborough by Ranulph earl of Chester, and he acquired a mill, for a third of which his son Nicholas obtained a quitclaim from the grantor's widow. [BL Harl. MS 4748 f.22] By 1303 Dunstall was held by Simon, [Feud Aids, iii. 157] younger son of Nicholas, and the holding is not mentioned later in the muniments.
