Stephen (I) de Segrave was granted land in Wyken and Stoke by Hugh Daubeny, earl of Arundel, and the services of Ralph de Stivichale for a holding between Wyken and Stoke. [BL Harl. MS 4748, f. 5d.] his son Gilbert was granted the mill of Wyken by Combe Abbey (above, BCM/D/5/23/16 [GC 1303]), and in 1279 Nicholas de Segrave was holding 1 carucate of land and a mill there. [CH Warws. viii. 120.] Wyken was a member of Caludon. |
