Albert Ballard was Alderman and Lord Mayor of Sheffield; Co-operative party agent in the Hillsborough constituency of Sheffield for A. V. Alexander and G. Darling 1922-1954; subsequently Chairman of the Sheffield United Hospital Board 1948-1963 and Chairman of Sheffield Education Committee 1959-1967.
