Correspondence relating to a British-American Expedition to the Himalayas in 1936. The original aim of the expedition was to attempt an ascent of Kangchenjunga, but in the end the expedition transferred to Nanda Devi Correspondents include: Bill Tilman, Peter Lloyd, T. Graham Brown, Ashley Abraham, Frank Smythe, Sir Percy Cox, A.R. Hinks, G.C. Flower, Douglas Busk, E.O. Shebbeare, Bentley Beauman, H.E.G. Tyndale, Francis Younghusband, R.W. Lloyd, Charles Houston, Terris Moore, Arthur Eammons etc. Subjects include the financing of the expedition, travel, shipping, scientific equipment and oxygen apparatus.
