Copy of a report explaining the thinking behind the design of the artificial limb devised by G.W. Young, presented to a Royal Commission enquiring into the supply and repair of artificial limbs, 1921. Together with correspondence re these limbs, mainly from other amputees. Also an offprint describing a German design for artificial legs, and three postcard photographs of the leg designed by Young. See also 1922/C111 for the text of Young's book "Words to the one-legged, by one of them". Dates: 1919 - 1929, 1944.
