Detailed journals of climbing holidays in the Alps, including the 1947 holiday in which two climbing companions, John Jenkins and Herbert ("Nully") Kretschmer were killed on a descent of Mont Blanc by the Brenva route. Also a journal of the 1957 expedition to Machapuchare in 1957. Cox failed to summit by about 150 ft.

 

Contains: Alps: Dauphine 1938; Zermatt 1946; Mont Blanc area 1947 (the accident on the Brenva). Piece Ref: 1922/D81/1.
