The group of records includes those of the H.M.C. itself and all its dependent hospitals, mostly cottage, isolation or maternity, some of whose records date from the 19th century. They have been catalogued here for convenience, and include:-

 

St. James' Hospital, Devizes, formerly Devizes Union Workhouse

 

Devizes Cottage Hospital, later Devizes and District Hospital

 

Devizes and Pewsey Joint Isolation Hospital, later Devizes Maternity Hospital

 

St. Andrew's Hospital, Chippenham, formerly Chippenham Union Workhouse

 

Chippenham Cottage Hospital, later Chippenham and District Hospital

 

Chippenham and Malmesbury Joint Isolation Hospital, later with Calne Isolation Hospital, later Frogwell Hospital, Chippenham

 

Malmesbury Cottage Hospital, later Malmesbury and District Hospital

 

Chippenham Greenways Maternity Hospital

 

The Committee ceased to exist in 1974, when the wiltshire Area Health Authority was created.
