Title: THE PAPERS OF SIR JOHN MICHAEL FLEETWOOD FULLER M.P., AND HIS SON - LT. COL. CHRISTOPHER FULLER, OF JAGGARDS, CORSHAM, WILTS.
Description:

It is clear from the miscellaneous nature of those papers which have survived that they represent only a part of Fuller's original political and private correspondence, the great bulk of which is now presumably lost or destroyed.

Few copies of Fuller's replies to correspondents exist, although he annotated many incoming letters with his directions for reply.

The collection contains both political and private family papers. The former, comprising correspondence, circulars, tracts and pamphlets, deal with Fuller's parliamentary career between 1892 and 1911, and primarily with his work as Liberal M.P. for the West Wilts. (Westbury) Division between 1900 and 1911. A considerable bulk of these political papers is concerned with Fuller's two general election campaigns in 1910.

There are no papers about his work as Governor of Victoria, 1911-1914, merely a few press cuttings and letters about the appointment in 1911. In c.1970 a collection of Sir John's papers as Governor of Victoria were transferred to La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia.

The collection also includes some personal and private correspondence between Fuller and members of his family - mainly his father George Pargiter Fuller of Neston Park, Corsham, Wilts., and the Abbotsleigh Estate, Hatton, Ceylon; correspondence about financial and estate affairs; hunting; Fuller's position as a Major in the Wilts. Imperial Yeomanry; appeals for subscriptions from various societies and organisations; and other matters.

His son's papers include the literary results of a tour of Russia in 1931 with Duncan Sandys, correspondence with The British Movement and members' recruitment and a wartime operation in North Africa and the deeds of the estate.
