Articles whereby Thomas Clopton of Clopton, esq., covenants with John Keyt, senior, of Ebrington, co. Glouc., esq., and John Keyt, junior, his son and heir (in consideration of his marriage with Eglentyne Keyt, daughter of John Keyt, senior, and of a sum of £1000 to be paid as her dowry under the will of William Keyt her grand-father and a like sum of £1000 to be paid by the said John Keyt, junior) to settle the manor of Bridgtowne, with lands, etc. in Bridgtowne and Stratford-upon-Avon, for a jointure for the said Eglentyne and for portions for daughters who might be born of the marriage.
