Copy will of John Cooper of Wellford, co. Glouc., dated 16 June 10 James I [1612] bequeathing to Ursula Howltone, his daughter, a house late in the tenure of Ann Woodward and two closes called Wicklett, with a lease from Bartholomew Nicholas to the use of her children; to Elizabeth Harris, his daughter, a house in the tenure of Frances Hield, a quarter of land in the tenure of John Oakes with two closes and half an acre of meadow; to Joan Cooper, his daughter, 40 shillings; to the daughter of Elizabeth Harris one 'hayfer'; to Joan Harris, his servant, a ewe, lamb and 20 shillings; to the parish church of Wellford 1 shilling and to the poor 3s. 4d; to Robert Cooper, his brother, of Marston Sicca, and Richard Cooper his brother of Offenham, his dwelling house, close and quarter of land for 10 years at 1 shilling rent, with reversion to Joan his daughter, if she marry with their consent, otherwise to his two daughters, Ursula Howlton and Elizabeth Harris; to Richard Cooper, son of Robert Cooper, and Thomas Cooper, son of Richard Cooper (the same being his executors) the residue of his goods, etc., in trust for Joan Cooper and her husband, if she marry with the consent of the said Robert and Richard, otherwise to the use of her children, or in default to the children of his other two daughters.

Copy, examined 1 February 1704/5 by William Challoner and Richard Wall.

 

With copy of probate attached, granted at Gloucester to Richard Cooper.
