Assignment by Richard Smart, junior, of Stratford-upon-Avon, yeoman, to John Woolmer of the same, gent., and John Freeman of Stretton-upon-Fosse, gent., of a lease from the Corporation of Stratford, dated 10 February 1665 of a messuage etc. in Rother Street or Rother Market and a barn and orchard in Hell Lane or Henley Lane, in the tenure of the said Richard Smart, junior, and Richard Smart, senior, his father, for 35 years, at a yearly rent of 20 shillings, such assignment being by way of settlement for a jointure for Mary Canning, his intended wife, daughter of Katherine Canning, of Toddenham, co. Glouc., by John Canning her late husband, and in consideration of a marriage portion of £160.
