Personal papers include clerical and official appointments, 1727-1811, and documentation, including pedigrees, on the family's history, much of it assembled by Charles James Vyner and Henry William Vyner during the writing of Vyner: the Family History, re-issued in an enlarged form in 1887.

Administrative / biographical background:

The best-known members of the family, though both younger sons, were Sir Robert Vyner (1631-1688), goldsmith and banker of London and Lord Mayor, 1674, and Sir Thomas Vyner (1558-1665), goldsmith of London and Lord Mayor, 1653. Both are represented in this collection.
