Title: CURWEN TRADE CATALOGUES
Description:

Here follows a list of a collection of trades catalogues, dating between 1870 and 1921. The majority of the catalogues are of horticultural supplies, agricultural machinery, building supplies and office supplies, obviously areas of importance in the running of the estate, though there is a significant number of interesting publications relating to domestic life.

Local companies and retailers include Little & Ballantyne, Clark Bros. & Co. and The Carlisle Rubber Co. of Carlisle, S T Croasdale, H. Saunderson, and Edmund Burow of Workington, and Thos. Wilson of Whitehaven. There are also early catalogues of Sutton & Son's seed merchants of Reading, and a catalogue of new and second hand books, printed by W H Smith & Son of London.
