This Wesleyan Methodist Circuit was formed out of the Gateshead Circuit in 1875 and included Bensham Road, Low Teams, Swalwell, Whickham, Blaydon, Winlaton, Kibblesworth, Marley Hill, Burnopfield, Fellside, Dunston and Rowlands Gill as well as the Lintz and Berlin Street Missions. It became Gateshead West Circuit in 1935.
