Administrative / biographical background:

Washington Station Chapel amalgamated with North Biddick, also known as the Joseph Cook Memorial Chapel in 1975 and together became known as Washington South Methodist Church. In 1976 a new church was opened at the Glebe.

 

The Joseph Cook Memorial Chapel had its origins in 1852 when services were held at North Biddick Hall, the home of Joseph Cook, Iron Master. The Memorial Chapel was opened in 1900.
