Founded in 1902 as Castletown Primitive Methodist School Chapel. In 1928 purchased the former Wesleyan Methodist Chapel at Castletown which was in a ruinous condition [for records see C.Su16].

 

Formerly part of Sunderland Third P.M Circuit [MC.Sull] and later of Sunderland North [MC.Sul].
