Administrative / biographical background:

Originally a Wesleyan Chapel, part of the Newcastle, Elswick Road Circuit. A new church was opened in 1898 and extended in 1905, when the old chapel was also leased to the Presbyterians. The church closed in 1965 due to a dwindling congregation.
