14 January 1518/19 Letters of Bishop Robert [Sherburne] of Chichester, uniting the chantries of Halnaker and Mundham, at the request of Sir Thomas West kt. [de la Warr] and Elizabeth his wife, whose ancestors founded them, the chantries now being impoverished. The chaplain is to reside in Halnaker, but to celebrate at the chantry altar in Mundham church at least four times a year. He is to pay 2s. yearly to the Bishop and 8d. yearly to the Archdeacon of Chichester.

Quarterly 1. & 4. crusilly fitchy a lion rampant [La Warr] 2. & 3. ? three leopards heads inverted jessant de lis [Cantelupe]. 4. Barry, an inescutcheon, on a chief or three palets between two girronies [Mortimer]. Legend: SIGILL THOME ....; Elizabeth West: red wax, 1.1 cm., lozenge shaped. Device: a pierced mullet with 6 points, within a beaded border. Dean and Chapter: Obverse: a church of three stories, with a cross on the first roof, dexter chief a star. Reverse: figure enthroned, in base a church. Legend: .... GOSU ....
