From R. de St. Martin, clerk, official of the Archdeacon of Chichester, to J[ohn Climping], Bishop of Chichester, reporting on the enquiry made in full chapter at Arundel, the Friday after Michaelmas, into the right of presentation to the chapel of Cudlow. It was stated that G. Fresteng and his heirs in the Manor of Cudlow had the right of patronage, 14s. pension to be paid annually to the Church of Chichester. The chaplaincy being vacant by resignation, G. Fresteng has presented someone of reputed honest life, who is a deacon and in Holy Orders. |
