By (a) Thomas of Lichefeld, Dean, with the consent of the Chapter of Chichester, to (b) the perpetual chaplaincy of the altar of St. Mary which (a) ordained in the High Church, Chichester, and the chaplain serving there. I The barley plot (ortum) by the course of the Lavant, II 2 acres of land adjoining, outside the West Gate of Chichester, which (a) bought from the heirs of Herbert Pollard. III That area of ground next to I which (a) bought from William Mercator for 7 marks. IV An acre in Chirchecroft which lies next to the land of St. Sepulchre to the East, which (a) bought of Eva Keneldewerde for 20s. Consideration: to (a) for the accustomed services. For Property I 15d. at Michaelmas, and 2d. for raking hay and boonwork at the Feast of St. Peter ad Vincula. Property II 25d. on St. Wilfrid's Day. Property III 15d. and 2d. for raking hay and boonwork as before. Property IV 2s. on St. Wilfrid's Day for all secular services saving suit of court to (a) On the death of the chaplain, his successor is to pay the customary relief to the Dean. |
