Pastureland called Bishoppland (7a.) belonging to the said manor in Ringmer, abutting S. on the said lane from the Broyle to Wellingham, W. on a lane from Ringmer church to Norlington Street. 1 rood of land in Ringmer. Lands called Allices Wish, Bushy, Rushett and Sextons land (12a.) in Ringmer in occ. of Nicholas Burte and Christopher Longley, abutting N. on copyhold lands of Samuel Towers called Sandpittfield and Newfield, E. on the Bottom meadows, S. on lands of Alexander Alchorne and on the highway from Ringmer church to the Broyle gate, W. on lands called Potters formerly of Nicholas Aptoff, gent., dec'd. No. SAU/669, 1650, is a covenant to levy a fine whereby the premises (iii) were to be to the use of Samuel Towers of the Cliffe, near Lewes, gent., for life and of his wife Elizabeth for life. Then the premises (iii) C. were to be to the use of their eldest dau. Elizabeth w. of John Hay of the Cliffe, gent., and her heirs; the premises (iii) B. were to be to the use of second dau. Frances Towers, spinster and her heirs; the premises (iii) A. were to be to the use of third dau. Jane Shorte, w. of Daniell Shorte of Tenterden, co. Kent, gent., and her heirs; the premises (iii) D. were to be to the use of fourth dau. Judith Stevenson, w. of Thomas Stevenson of South Malling, clerk, and her heirs. In 1690, Harry Haslen of Brightling, gent., and w. Elizabeth, dau. and heir of John Hay and w. Elizabeth, settled the third part of the premises (iii) B. on dau. Mary Haslen and in 1705 Mary Fowle, wid., [née Haslen] sold her third part to Benjamin White of Lewes, Doctor of Physic. In 1696 Judith Stevenson of the Cliffe, near Lewes, wid., sold her third part of the premises (iii) B. to William Newton of Southover near Lewes, gent. William Newton bought the other third part of the premises (iii) B. in 1696, from Henry Hopkins of Lewes, gent., and w. Jane, formerly wid., of Thomas Short of Tenterden, co. Kent, gent., dec'd., and s. Thomas Short. William Newton mortgaged the two third parts of the premises (iii) B. to Sir John Stapley of the Broyle, Ringmer, bart. In 1705 Peter White of Lewes, Doctor of Physic, bought the two third parts of the premises (iii) B from William Newton of Wellingham in Ringmer, gent. Nos. SAU/691-694, 1722, are the deeds of a settlement made by Peter White in consideration of a marriage to be solemnized between dau. Frances and Thomas Fuller of Catsfield, gent. He settled the premises (ii), (iii) B. and a barn, close 20ft. by 15ft. in parish of St. John Sub Castro, Lewes, abutting W. on a stable of widow Palmer, N. and E. on a croft of John Spence, S. on the highway there, on the pair according to uses declared in the settlement

This deed is a lease of the premises made in 1780, from John Fuller formerly of Parkgate in Catsfield and now of Lewes, esq., to John Grover of St. Thomas at Cliffe, Lewes, blacksmith
