Description:

The church of Lewes St Mary was built as a chapel of ease to Lewes St Anne in 1938. The dedication service was held on 16 March 1938 and separate service registers were kept from that date. A separate baptism register was kept from November 1940 and baptisms in St Mary's prior to that date were copied into it.
