Details of PAR399
Reference: PAR399
Title: PARISH OF HERSTMONCEUX
Description:

The parish church of All Saints lies a little under two miles from the present village of Herstmonceux, formerly known as Gardner Street. From 1893, services were held in the chapel of St James in the village, as well as All Saints, easing the problem of access to the parish church. References of services held in Cowbeech district chapel exist from 1911, and until 1917 are recorded in the service register of All Saints. Cowbeech chapel closed in 1971.
