By FRANCIS SCARLETT of London, gent., to THOMAS SCARLETT, citizen and mercer of London, JOHN SCARLETT of London, merchant, and NICHOLAS SCARLETT of Eastbourne, gent. - for £500 - of all those cottages, lands and wood grounds parcel of the demesnes of the manor of Netherfield as follows

 

Jackfeild wood, 4 ac. 4 p.; a little wood over against the last, 1 ac. 1 p.; Upper Ibrooke wood, 15 ac. 3 r.; Nether Ibrooke wood, 27 ac.; Stone wood, 13 ac.; Barnetts wood, 10 ac. 3 r.; Highwood, 71 ac.; Nether Dugg Reed wood, 10 ac.; Middle Dugg Reed wood and a little wood on the W. thereof, 33 ac.; Upper Dugg Reed wood, 21 ac. 3 r

 

Also a cottage called Gregoryes cottage and the land used therewith, 1 ac. 3 r., lying between the highway and Upper Dugg Reed wood and a field called Pilcocks; a cottage called Mother Earles cottage near Darvoll and lands thereto, 2 ac.; a cottage called Carters croft cottage and lands thereto ; and all the grounds late parcel of the waste of the said manor adjoining to the premises on the S.W. and N. sides of the highway from Ball Battell to Darvoll And all the ground lying on both sides of a lane from Netherfeild Downe to Darvoll theretofore parcel of the waste And all the soil &c. of the woods and all streams of water &c. And all that the Furnace and soil wherein the furnace had been built And the house adjoining And the Coale places and Mine places therewith used and all ponds &c. ; all the said premises being in Battell, Netherfield and Mountfield

 

Also all other premises in the same places wherein John Giles late of Penhurst, clerk, had any estate of inheritance. Reference to a deed between the Rt. Hon. Heneage, Earl of Winchester, Sir Roger Twisden and others and the said Johnn Giles dated 28 Feb., 1649
