By Sir JOHN FAGGE of Wiston, bart., (sole son and heir of John Fagge late of Rye, gent.) and WILLIAM HAY of Little Horsted, esq., to ANANIAS BOURNER of Uckfield, gent., WILLIAM LEVETT of Robertsbridge in Saleherst, gent., RICHARD UZBORNE of Heathfeild, yeoman, JOHN HICKES of Robertsbridge, yeoman, and SAMUELL SPATCHURST of Little Horsted, yeoman - in consideration of an intended marriage between John Hay, gent., (2nd son of the said William Hay) and Elizabeth Leader (sole daughter and heir of Richard Leader late of Robertsbridge, gent., decd.) of the following

 

A messuage or tenement, garden and 2 pieces of ground, one being formerly hop ground containing 4 ac. in the occupation of Thos. Pilcher

 

All that Ironwork or Hammer called Kitchenham Hammer and the Hammer house, iron house and workmen's houses and all the lands &c. belonging, with the pond containing 10 ac

 

The Hammer wood, 37 ac

 

3 ac. of woodland called the Hammer wood

 

12 ac. of brookeland called the Hammer Brooke

 

9ac. of land called the Hammer hill and the Comes

 

A field formerly part of the Hammerwood, 4 ac

 

The Upper Brooke near the Mill

 

The Middle Brooke below the Upper Brook and Brookeland below the Upper Brooke; the last three pieces being formerly part of the pond, containing together 6 ac

 

The Brooke against the Denne with the two brookes adjoining on the S. containing 4 ac

 

All which premises being in Ashburnham and bounding to the highway from Nendfeild to Ponts Greenem N., to a way from Ashburnham church to Kitchenham house, E., lands of Thos. Luxford, gent., late of William Moore, clerk, decd., S. and lands late of Thomas Elficke decd. and George Thetcher, W

 

With liberty of carriage by boats on the watercourse, river or ditch running from Kitchenham Hammer to Boreham bridge and to go upon the landslate of Sir Edw. Bromefeild and John Bromfeild, esq., upon the banks of both sides of the said River, watercourse or ditch to hale, pull or draw boats &c. by through or over the said land lying next the said river called the Seventeene Acres and the Horse brooke - also to scour the watercourse and to erect pens, bays & c

 

Also a right of way (among other places) over land in the occupation of Jeffery Freind called Kitchingham and ground late in the occupation of Richard Vernon called Hassocks leading frmm Milbridge at Ashborneham to Kitchingham and from Kitchingham to Boreham bridge - all which said way or passage bounding to the close of Great Kitchingham, the Kitchin feild and the Well feild, W., the Brickhost feild, the Culverhouse feild, the Penny feild and a field called the Sheild, E. and so through the Upper side of the fields called the Great Marlins and the little Marlins brooke
