By JOHN GYLES of Nendfeild, clerk, to JOHN ASHBURNHAM, esq., of the manor of Dowles and Skeynes with their appurtenances and 1 ac. of marshland in Manxey, which by deed of 1 Nov., 12 Chas. Henry Shelley and Sir James Colbrond of Lewes assigned to the said John Gyles (see ASH/4501/570)

 

By deed of 20 Dec., 3 Chas. I Sir John Colbrond demised to Edward Mitchell and Theobald Mitchell and Henry Shelley junr., for 3000 years all his manors, lands &c. in Wartlinge, Pevensey and Manxey upon trust for the maintenance and bringing up of the children of the said Sir James; Edward and Theobald Mitchell refused to accept the trust and by order of the Court of Chancery conveyed their estate to the said Henry Shelley
