Being the presentment of the death of JOHN ASHBORNHAM, esq., who held of the manor lands as follows

 

A tenement called le Crepe in Penhurst containing 100 ac. sometime of Richard Nore, rent 12s. 4d. and every 16 weeks for Castle guard, 4d, suit of court, heriot and relief

 

3 pieces of land, one called Wintland, another Bromefield and the third, Sledingland, in Ashbornham, rent 16d, castle guard every 16 weeks, 1d. heriot, relief, "martagium"

 

A tenement called Peterds, rent 3s., heriot, relief and court suit, castle guard, 1d

 

A parcel of land in Dallington called Cobbeley, sometime of John Hogge, rent, 1 lb. of pepper, 1 lb of Cummin, heriot, relief, court suit

 

A meadow at Densforthbridge, now made "an Iron furnace" in Dallington and Penhurst, rent 4d., suit of court, heriot, relief, fealty and other services

 

A meadow in Brightlinge sometime Collingham's, rent 2d., heriot &c. Heriots seized, 6 oxen. John Ashbornham is son and heir aged 19 years

 

It is ordered that he be seized into ward of the lord. Precept to bailiff to distrain for socage and relief

 

Crepe: Henry de Penhurst did infeof Adam de Creepe of Creepe rendering yearly 12s. Anno regni regis Edw. 17
