Description:

The tape recordings are two talks given by Miss Kathleen Vinall to a WEA Local History class in November and December 1972. Kathleen was born in 1905, and her father, Hugh Vinall, and grandfather, Isaac Vinall, were both Lewes solicitors and active members of Jireh Chapel, Lewes. She relates the history of the family and its various branches in Lewes and Kingston, giving special attention to her ancestors, John Vinall, minister of the Jireh Chapel, Lewes, and his sons Ebenezer and John, who were also preachers. Kathleen taught English in London for much of her career
