These accounts are rendered in two sections to Nathaniel Powell of Boughton Monchelsea Kent as baronet and as knight until Michaelmas 1669, to him as knight only to Lady day 1673 and from then on jointly as a single estate. The accountant is Thomas Russell of Ewhurst who also drew the maps (AMS5691/3/1-4) and whose son Thomas was later town clerk of Dover. Quit rents for Bodiam, Ewhurst, Mote and Broomham manors are included as are entries for estate repairs and expenses and payments of taxes and waterscots. Personal payments are also accounted for including muster expenses and school fees
