Title: Copy of an abstract of deeds of Grovelye Farm in Warbleton and Younglands in Dallington, 1633-1790
Description:

Both farms were purchased by William Elliott of Warbleton, yeoman, from Henry Ward of Bolney, gent in 1634, and descended in the Elliott family until after 1790

The deeds also mention Buxteep in Warbleton (1633), Coomb otherwise Coombland, Denningfield, Sandhill Croft and Cornish in Warbleton (1700-1701), and the account of Anthony Trumble of Hailsham, attorney, to John Elliott for litigation against Sarah Alford and [William] Nelson of Offham [in Hamsey], mortgagees, 1711-1716

Includes case of John Elliott concerning the effect of the assignment of a mortgage on a prior loan to his brother William Elliott, who has subsequently absconded, with the opinion of Robert Bicknell, 26 May 1732

This copy was made, presumably by Joseph Mercer, on account of the assignment of a mortgage of the property to Timothy Mercer of Hawkhurst in Kent, yeoman, on 11 Jul 1721, lately dead in May 1732
