Peter Gott of Stanmer, esq, with Joseph Mercer of Sedlescombe, yeoman

 

A right of way for PG through the land of JM to a ditch or water-lay belonging to PG's Westfield Forge, which leaves the river running from Sedlescombe Bridge to Brede Bridge in the lands of JM, 'on which ditch there is and has anciently been a wast or poll bay', to maintain and scour the bay and to turn the water out of the river into the ditch

 

A right of way for JM to his brookland called Crabbrooke and woodland or coppice lying [away] from the road through the land of PG which surround it

 

PG to maintain two bridges across the ditch in the land of JM, maintain the bays and penstocks and cleanse the ditch, to prevent the flooding of JM's land

 

JM may shut the gate at the poll bay to turn the water into the old river when he needs water for his cattle; PG to maintain the gate
