Born, 1909. Enlisted, 1925. Served with 2nd Battalion and was a prisoner of war during World War II. Served with the Queen's Own West Kent Regiment, Mar-Oct 1948. Returned to the East Surrey Regiment, Oct 1948. Discharged and re-enlisted for supplemental service, 1949. Discharged and appointed to a Commission, c.1951. Seconded to 1st Battalion, Queen's Own Nigeria Regiment. Awarded MBE, 1959.
