Born, 1911. Enlisted at Sutton, 1930. Served with a territorial battalion of the East Surrey Regiment. Discharged in order to join the regular Army, 1930. Served with 1st Battalion in England, 1930-1932, India, 1932-1937, Sudan, 1937-1939, France, 1939-1940. Was a German prisoner of war, 1940-1945. Discharged, 1945.
