The collection comprises the Registers of Duties on Land Values (known as 'Domesday Books') created for the Board of Inland Revenue Valuation Offices under the Finance Act, 1910. These volumes are supplemented by Field Books giving similar information with some further details: these have been selected for permanent preservation in the Public Record Office (ref. IR 58)

 

The working sheet maps relating to the survey made in 1910-1915 to implement the 1910 Act are already in the Bury branch office (acc.2092)
