Eldest surviving son of Isaac Taylor (1759-1829), and brother of Ann and Jane above. Artist, author and theologian, and inventor. Trained by his father as an engraver but worked chiefly in his early life as a designer of book illustrations. Contributed reviews to the Eclectic Review; author of philosophical, theological and biographical works. Inventor of a beer-tap, and a machine for engraving copper plates. Married Elizabeth Medland in 1825 and settled at Stanford Rivers (Ess).
