Title: Waldegrave Manuscripts
Description:

Records from the Estate Office at Chewton Priory consisting of leases, surveys and books of reference, maps, mining records, manorial documents and a large quantity of relatively modern estate and business papers. Many of the ancient records except the manorial and mining records were listed in 1826, and the volume Index to documents in the Office at Harptree Court, 1826, is included in the deposit.

Arrangement:

The arrangement, particularly of the leases, recorded in the index of 1826 has been maintained and has facilitated checking. The majority of the items now missing were missing when a check was made in 1876 when the records were in the Radstock Strong Room.
