Description:

Large volume inscribed 'Survey and Valuation of the Manors of Houndstreet with Marksbury, Chelworth, Farnborough, Compton Dando and Pensford, with Publow and Woollard, in the County of Somerset, comprising the Mansion House, Park, Farms, Tenements and Cottages appendant to the same, together with the Advowsons of the Rectory of Marksbury and Vicarage of Buselton [Brislington] in the said County; the property of General Edward Leybourn Popham.--By Kent Pearce & Kent', and labelled '1806'; arranged partly under the heads of farms or holdings and partly under the names of tenants.

 

Giving, in tabular form, reference to the map, description of properties with acreage, and computed yearly value, together with remarks suggesting improvements to the park, and noting the advancement or the dearness of rents.

 

Map entitled 'Plan of the Manors of Houndstreet, with Marksbury, Chelworth, Farnborough, Compton Dando, Publow and Woollard in the County of Somerset. Belonging to General Edwd. Wm. Leybourne Popham. Paper document headed 'An Abstract of the annual value of estates belonging to Genl. Popham in the County of Somerset', and signed 'N. Kent. 1 Jany. 1807'.

 

Giving the total annual value of the mansion house (Houndstreet) and park and woods in hand, of the farms and tenements at rack rent, and of the leaseholds, for the 'divisions' of Houndstreet, Chelworth, 'Farnborough', Compton Dando, and Publow.
