Title: MANORS OF FARMBOROUGH GREVILL AND FARMBOROUGH ROSEWELL survey and rental
Description:

Volume, enfaced 'A Survay booke of the Mannors of Farmeburoe in the County of Somerset', being the proceedings of a court of survey, (Classified strictly, this survey would appear under the heading Hundredal and Manorial Procedure. However, as it is a single item, the document has been kept with the estate surveys, to which it has an affinity by way of content, if not of origin.) together with a rental, recorded separately for each manor, in the time of Thomas Chafyn, esq., lord of the manor.

Giving (in the survey) names of free suitors and of tenants, and a description of the holdings of each tenant in the common fields and elsewhere, together with rents, heriots, annual value, and number of 'lives' for which the properties are held; and giving (in the rentals) names of tenants, total acreage, and rents in money and in kind.

At the end of the entries for Farmborough Rosewell the note 'This mannor is helde of the Honor of Glocester by knight service but by what part of a knights fee, it is not fownde nor knowen' is added.
