Title: NYLAND ESTATE stewards' accounts
Description:

Paper accounts, including rentals (receipt side), being the accounts of William Adams with Miss Hutton; complete for the period 1787-1810.

 

Receipts. Rack rents and quit rents (sometimes set out in rental form, and giving names of tenants, and a note of the properties).

 

Disbursements. Rates and taxes, expenses of Nyland Decoy Pool and royalties thereon, labour (carpentry, ditch-cutting, etc.), and purchase of various items (hemp seed, tarred yarn, Cheddar cheeses, etc.).

 

Rental for 1787-9 endorsed with perambulation of the manor.
