Description:

Yearly account books, inscribed 'Houndstreet and Nyland Stated Account', and headed 'Thomas Pointing in account with Edwd. Wm. Leybourne Popham Esqr.'. Rentals are included separately in each volume.

 

Receipts. Land tax, rents, payments by the Commissioners of the Bath Roads for quarrying stone, and sales of timber, game, wool, etc.

 

Disbursements. Rates and taxes, labour and service, purchase of various items (candles, venison hampers, stationery, etc.), and incidental expenses, including a subscription to the Irish peasantry, 1822.

 

The rentals give names of tenants, brief description of properties, terms and dates of expiry of leases, acreage, yearly rent, arrears from previous half-year, the total due, abatement allowed, and amounts received and remaining, for each estate.
