Documents presumably compiled or collected by Edward Popham (Foster's Alumni Oxonienses: Edward, son of Edward Popham of Littlecote, esq.; Rector of Chilton Foliat, co. Wilts., 1778, until his death in 1815.): A bundle of MS. sermons preached between 1769 and 1815 at various places including Bath, Lacock, and Chilton Foliat; and a printed copy of a sermon preached at Salisbury Assizes in 1791. Printed list of subscribers, accounts, and rules, headed 'The state of the Charity for the relief of widows and orphans of poor clergymen, in Wilts', dated 1790. Documents presumably compiled or collected by Francis Leyborne Popham (Ibidem: Francis Leyborne, second son of Edward William Leyborne Popham of Chilton, co. Wilts., esq.; Fellow of All Souls College, 1831-43; died in 1880.): Six bundles of Latin prose and verse; and various notes made, mainly in exercise books, on Greek and Latin subjects, logic, rhetoric, etc. Twelve volumes of poems and essays in Latin, Greek, and English, printed 1824-35. Two volumes dealing with the elements of logic, printed 1827 and 1830. |
